Giving Thanks: Nate Kresge

November 21, 2017

The GK Visual team has been tasked with sharing, “What We’re Thankful For,” this holiday season.  Each week leading up to Thanksgiving 2017, we’ll feature a different team member and what he or she is thankful for this year.

This week, we conclude the series with Nate Kresge, Director of Photography / Executive Producer / Co-Owner

Nate Kresge

When we decided we should write about what we’re thankful for, I thought it would be pretty easy. I have so much to be thankful for. That becomes the problem though. How do I narrow in on something to write about?

One thought rose to the surface though. I’m so proud of and thankful for our team at GK Visual.

Here are five reasons why I’m thankful.

(In no particular order.)

Nick

This guy will do whatever you ask of him without question. He shoots, edits, directs, and produces. He’s even starting to shoot some photography for us. He’s always happy to be at work and loves interacting with our clients. His work is exceptional.

He also has an impressive knack for finding the highest abv beer on any draft list.

Sean

Sean keeps impressing me. This guy has come a long way since joining our team. His work is outstanding. Like the others on the team, he wears many hats and does a great job with them all. His motion graphic work is awesome.

Even though I give him a hard time about arriving to work on time he always puts in the extra hours to make sure projects are done.

I’m also thankful that he’s letting everyone in the office beat him at fantasy football.

Sara

Sara gets the acrobat award. She juggles and balances so many things and somehow manages to keep them all straight. We joke that she takes care of “her boys”, but she really does. Scheduling this team, writing, and producing a feature-length film is no easy task but she does it all while still running her own business and now has a new boy to call her Mom.

Doug

I’m not sure Doug knew what he was getting into when I asked him to be my business partner. It’s been a great journey so far with this guy. I would originally hire him from time to time to add a little polish to my videos. Fast forward ten years and he’s become the best editor I know. He often works all through the night to make sure our projects are done on time and our clients are happy. This guy is a rock for all of us.

I’m also thankful that he rolls along with so many of my crazy ideas.

Lauren

Although she’s not a GK Visual employee, my wife has helped make this company what it is. She’s been there through thick and thin. In fact, shortly after we were married she was quick to tell me she thought I should quit my job and start my own business. I couldn’t have done any of this without her.

I’m not sure the team is as thankful for her as she has been beating us all in fantasy football.
