Burg in Focus: Harris Tower

Our partnership with TheBurg this month took us to a place we’d never been or even known about in our hometown of Harrisburg.

The Harris Tower, situated unobtrusively between Forum Place and the State Street Bridge, is a railroad control tower, otherwise known as an interlocking tower. Harris Tower has been completely restored to not only its 1945 appearance, but all facets of the interlocking machine, model board and communications equipment were made operable to be experienced by visitors.
